Frozen Inertia and the odd / funny yet comely stream of cosmic consciousness of "It’s Enrico Pallazzo!!"

"I'll sing out of key / oh say can you see / now I'll make the call / that's not my job at all..."

The odd / funny yet comely stream of cosmic consciousness of "It’s Enrico Pallazzo!!" by Frozen Inertia, the experimental Oakland California / Akron Ohio based indie rock outfit lead by Timothy Graves (guitar, bass, synths, vocals) and Brad Palmer (drums, keys), feels at once weird, yet ornate, finely measured but off the rails like a germaphobe at Burning Man. From their new album, "Reflectivity", this track begins with a kind of 50's classic rock sway feels 70's punk and had me thinking of a mellow alt-pop version of The Stranglers with a chorus with a seemingly Beatles nod (or at least Paul McCartney nod). Other tonal things, like the vintage organ, swelling atmospheres and big room vocals, that, during one wonderful section, had me thinking of The Beach Boys or, at least, a multi-verse iteration from Brian Wilson's "Smile" album if it was composed after Brian was fed a steady diet of Gong, Silver Apples and Luis Buñuel films, (in the sand box or not), had me broadly smiling and saying "oh yeah!" to myself.

All this and the fact that this song is artfully tied to Francis (from Pee Wee's Big Adventure) and The Naked Gun film, is more than enough for me, not to mention it's artful pull and originality.
