The Qualia's hard and shiny pop-scape on "Can't Take A Joke"

New York based The Qualia can take a joke but their latest offering Can't Take A Joke spits out a diverse array of musical tones from a 60's pop elements to 90's post rock / college rock / indie rock back to 60's pop with Brit rock attitudes. It is all stirred up and feels so well defined and yet fits effortlessly together.  The music reflects the combined personalities of Lars Casteen, Rossen Nedelchey, Matt Raymond and Will McCutcheon. Casteen is the primary songwriter who holes himself up in his Brooklyn home studio shaping his songs into rough demos before casting them before his band mates. The songs shift and change and become the stuff that is The Qualia.
