Premiere: "Permanent Job" by Katie Wood is a bittersweet rock ballad, pretty and powerful
Permanent Job by singer songwriter and Londoner Katie Wood starts off with an exasperating sigh. The debut single with it's almost sleepy sway, warm keys, Lou Reed-ish guitar attitudes and Wood's expressive vocals. Her voice has a gritty tone in it's tremble, husky and hushed, pretty and powerful. I love the bridge, the tone of the keys and Wood who sometimes hits this kind of bitter meets sultry tone that reminds me of Fiona Apple. What a stellar debut. - Robb Donker
