Simen Mitlid's "After A While" from his "Neutral" album feels reflective and intimate

AP Track Review:

After A While starts with classic folk ballad plucking chords. Listen a bit sideways and it could remind you of Your Song by Elton John even but then when Simen Mitlid's introspective vocal presentation, reflective but sounding almost self-conscious takes over, the song feels more like intimate moments out of a diary. Mitlid mentions his home town of Oslo, Norway and observations of blooming love. Percussive sounds awaken as horns swell around the melodies. Once a somber beat starts, the alt folk with orchestral maneuvers in full swing, the song crescendos and then falls away back to the beginning. Lovely.

After A While is from Simen Mitlid's "Neutral" album available on Spotify.
