I don't know much about Mystery Cassette other than I love that name and their 3rd single Red Wine and Cigarettes is a blistering post punk rocker with girl / boy vox that 10 seconds in grabs you and doesn't let go. It is funny because the tempo is fast but not feral but with the frantic guitars, intertwined bass / drums and measured vox it is like an unstoppable runaway train. It has an almost Cult like guitar hook and a Thee Oh Sees pressure cooker constant push. The vox have a sort of proto punk (78) quality running clean free of washed out psyche rock reverb. The song is birthed out of pain.
