Veda, the lo-fi Prince of Darkness and the goth post punk of "What A Shame"

Veda is the goth / post punk project of multi-instrumentalist / singer-songwriter Dominic Antonio Sepúlveda based out of Birmingham (England) and the track What A Shame instantly amped me up. The self described "Lo-fi Prince of Darkness" with his penchant feral post punk sent my blood coursing through my veins faster and pegged the synapses in my brain on overdrive.

Sepúlveda is a master of getting a dirty big sound out of Casio toned keyboards, guitars and lo-fi drum machines. It is his feral aesthetic here and his smart and mysterious vocal aesthetic, talking in a kind of almost disoriented way and then wailing in his singing register that sounds so very engaging. After a cool divergent lead guitar the song abruptly ends... sadly too soon.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

VEDA is cyberspace’s very own Lo-Fi Prince of Darkness. The goth/post-punk project was created by Birmingham UK based multi-instrumentalist Dominic Antonio Sepúlveda.
VEDA’s sound is a lustrous blend of casiotone keyboards, jangly guitars, lo-fi drum machines and earnest vocals, taking influence from the post-industrial landscape of Birmingham, while also importing DIY culture from across the Atlantic.
Since releasing debut EP ‘Soir’ in 2017, VEDA has supported artists such as Fufanu, White Fang and Art School Girlfriend. Second EP ‘Sweetheart’ was released in 2019 via Brooklyn based label Birthdiy and was followed by extensive UK/EU tour dates.
Latest single ‘My Graveyard Grl’ shifts the project into new tenebrous depths. Featuring dark melodic paths, vampire inspired lyricism and soaring guitar leads. 2020 will see a hell of a lot more to come.
