Whisper Dish and the wicked blues punk snap of "Painted"

"with your cape and your crown"

New Zealand’s Whisper Dish recently published their second single “Painted,” a heavy dose of moody bluesy lo fi sound. The track exudes raw musicality as Whisper Dish embodies the ever admirable DIY ethos. We love all creative expression and appreciate theatrics and production too, but capturing sound in its purest forms speaks to the primitive nature of making art. Music recorded DIY in a cottage studio in Aukland somehow resonates more fully than something large scale and overproduced. Their first single, “They Don’t Know” was used in a surf video of Kehu Butler, meshing the naturesque soundscape with the seascape and the beautiful art of surfing. Have a nice listen to both singles, and we foresee more Whisper Dish pieces gracing us in the near future.
