KAI CULT and the massive lo-fi post punk punch of "Cigarette Burns"

"cigarette burns on my eyes, it hurts, it hurts!"

Melbourne’s KAI CULT just released his second single “Cigarette Burns,” a swift chaotic punch of lo fi punk. The track is self produced, mixed by Ashwin Rao of the Singaporean garage group Knightingale, and is paired with a DIY video shot by Sam Van Munnen and directed and edited by KAI CULT. The lyrical concept portrays how we all feel during the pandemic; trying to stay calm and collected while anxiety boils under the surface. The raging and raw sound of the music blends well with these feelings of turmoil. At least we’re all in a creative and artistic renaissance, which historically seems to repeat as a reaction of our collective consciousness coping and expressing ourselves through times of adversity. This track is a part of the current movement, so follow KAI CULT through this dystopian wasteland and enjoy “Cigarette Burns” and their future releases.
