Simulated Youth- The futurewave dance punk affections of "NBT" featuring Camoragi (Official Video)

"I don't think about you"

When listening to "NBT" by Simulated Youth and featuring Camoragi on vox you might envision shiny neon emitting vehicles coursing through space orbiting around unknown planets or you might imagine vinyl clad club kids with safety pins piercing their skin, some radiating Mohawks at a German Punk Club in the late 70's. The sounds is as much proto punk / gutter punk as it is electro pop indie with sci-fi electronica affections. I guess the descriptor is not as important as the fact that it sucks you into an engaging new world right away. There is a cinematic flair created by the composition, the production enhanced greatly by Camoragi's vocal aesthetic. She infuses commercial pop forward hip hop tones into the darkwave, sort of cyber-goth motif.

Simulated Youth based in Phoenix, Arizona (of all places) shares:

"NBT" stands for "Nice Bass Track." The lyrics are about the song itself being in love with the artist, yet to the artist the song is just their nice bass track. This is meant to mirror the typical obsession that artists have with their own works.

In the end, the tones here are so cool. The sort of fractured synth sounds, oftentimes feeling more like electronic wave transmissions than musical tones, make think of early iconic electronic works from The Normal and Kraftwerk and contemporary acts like the the dance punk / future wave Glass Spells who have a tangential background in Phoenix (too)  and Calexico, California.

Based in Phoenix, AZ, Simulated Youth creates retro & futuristic dance music with a dark twist. To drive their thought-provoking song themes, you’ll hear some chaotic breaks, ethereal drops, and clever arrangements. Their goal is always to balance the emotion of the track between bright and dark parts, ultimately providing a fun and original sound that invokes deep thoughts as listeners dance away.

“NBT” is our newest single, scheduled for March 5th release. The 3 letters stand for "Nice Bass Track,” and the lyrics are about the song itself being in love with the artist, yet to the artist, the song is just their nice bass track. Definitely a darkwave foundation / cybergoth feel to this one! Vocals are by a rising new singer called Camoragi.

On a personal note, Simulated Youth is passionate about dog welfare across the world, and is committed to ending the dog meat trade.
