The Sheeps and the bent pop song diorama of "Post in D"

"remember the days they shot videos on MTV"

[THESSENCE]

"Post in D" by The Sheeps feels kind of magical in a bent way. On one hand it feels like a Mentos commercial written by Sparklehorse and on the other hand it feels like a song on a dark, dark version of Sesame Street. I adore the lyrical tone that hugs you and sort of punches you in the gut at the same time. The synth melodies that mirror the vocal melody, the pearly kind of Farfisa-esque keys and the lead vocal aesthetic, a bit sad and fraying at the edges. There is the sense that any whimsy in this man's hear has been squashed down by cynicism but please understand that this is coming from a comically cynical person (moi). Life after all is a fucking joke in the end.
