Bloodslide and the elegant crushing carnage of "Pica" (Official Video)

The sheer heaviness of Bloodslide's "Pica" cascades over you and the resulting downpour is not caustic or dirty (though the dramatic distortion is not for the faint of heart) but instead it feels as haunting, eerie and Gothic as it does beautifully elegant in it's descent (into Hell or elsewhere). The marching bass and heavy metal drum flurries set the track in concrete as guitar crashes and screams rain down. Bassist AJ Lamberts vocal aesthetic is darkly dire and pained but somehow floats through and slightly above the crush.

I have listened to "Pica" dozens of time and each time I get wonderfully lost in the dark sounds. I have the sense that Bloodslide, in some way, wants to do some damage, to break down our senses because out of the carnage one feels hope. At least, that is the feeling I get listening. Amazing.
