...obviously eats the lo-fi smashing "Cake"

"because I feel like I want to go to Heaven's gate and turn a cornerstone"

The phrase "You can't have your cake and eat it too", a sort of proverb that is something between a parental scold and a metaphysical puzzle has, to me, been somehow transformed into the most me centric selfish "I want to have my cake and eat it too" or vice versa "I want to eat my cake and have it too". Oh, why the fuck am I talking about cake? It is because of the way my rattled mind works and that I am listening to "Cake" by UK based ...obviously who I literally know nothing about.

"I wrote this song about a some-what toxic relationship from the male's perspective"

I do like the sound here very much and once the vague sounds, that feel piano based and dreamy, the tune slaps you in the face in sort of an Arctic Monkey's jag. That sound which, um, is not my favorite and maybe a bit conventional is offset by brilliant melodies swimming in the verses- which I do love and I feel like there is a bit of role playing here: verse as patching up bruises and the chorus as the toxic slap- I like the faint sort of ska sway, the pearly synths and catchy melodies and ...obviously's vocal punch (even stuck in that kind of over modulated dinge). Once you eat your cake (after all) it is gone and you no longer have it (oh my fucking rattled mind).

"put the cake in the oven and fucking bake it"

This track will be stuck in my head all day I am sure and I, obviously, want to learn and hear more from, um, ...obviously.
