Oberhofer and the cascading happy sad sunshine of "Let It Go" (Official Video)

The Official Video for Brooklyn based Oberhofer's whimsical indie dream pop (broken or not) celebration, "Let It Go", features front man and name sake, Brad Oberhofer, wandering in the sublime rurality of some place, riding on a train, foraging, frolicking and gazing at horses doing the same via binoculars, more than one bemused llamas and other animals, nature in all it's finite beauty. It is a perfect cascade of images for the song that feels so exquisitely refined in it's off kilter crooked beauty. The sprinkles of piano, McCartney bass, Van Dyke Parks illumination filtered through divergent pop punk streams of light is just happy and sad, nostalgic and new, quirky but charming. Oberhofer's vocal croon feels grounded in crisscrossed tones of emotion. You may, while listening apart from the video, see actors who are frequently in Wes Anderson flicks running this way or that, at least I did in my brain.

"Let It Go" is from Oberhofer's first full length in almost 6 years entitled "Smothered" dropping November 12th via Telefono Records and features contributions by Teddy Geiger, Shamir, Jonsi, King Princess, Nick Valensi and GirlPool.
