His His and the warm reticent beauty and sadness of "In the Wind"

"all your books and papers are gone out through the window..."

His His, the musical project of Toronto-based artist Aidan Belo, exists in longing and melancholia and "In the Wind" bolstered by an honest tenderness and warbled guitar lines feels like a cold distant memory. Belo's vocal aesthetic is beautiful in it's reticence and warm embrace. The song recounts loss and maybe what is found within something lost, cobbled together in a natural way. Belo shares:

"I wrote this tune on a rainy day spent inside my apartment bedroom. It was written about loosing a set of notes and voice memos very important to me. I recorded the track in the empty space of an old wooden barn (which I have temporarily converted into a makeshift studio). The drum track is from an old drum machine that I found for $10 at a second-hand store and then ran it through my cassette recorder. It was that basic drum beat that inspired the guitar part, and the rest followed suit."

Loving the sound and emotional dioramas that His His creates and discovering, delving into past creations like the 2021 album / collection "Garden Songs".

His His is the project of Toronto-based artist Aidan Belo. Combining delicate guitar lines with simple yet thoughtful vocals, Belo created this project as an outlet after relocating to his family’s hobby farm outside of the city, in an attempt to evoke something rural and honest. Most easily defined by the Portuguese word “saudade”, a feeling of longing and melancholy, His His’s debut single titled “Matador” was released on October 27.
