Larry Murvin and the neo soul / hip hop questions of "Illusive Illusion"

 

"I think they're trying to take away my thoughts, I think they're trying to take away the art of feeling..."

On the all too brief "Illusive Illusion", High Point, North Carolina music artist / hip hop provocateur Larry Murvin spins flowing questions that in and of themselves point to the answers while raw organic beats push ahead. The pearly nu-jazz dipped bass and keys (whether sampled or created) feel mind altering. Sonic brain expansion as Larry seems to revel in the importance of cultivating our own reality while big machines spin those illusions, the opiates of the masses that keep us gleefully dumb, "illusive illusion of feeling free".

At least that is what came to my mind as I listened to this short meditation over and over again. Digging the vibes and the questions. Check it out.
