Sounds of Blackfox and the surf psychedelic / metal mythology of "Green Tide"

"my body's going on the water, the green tides are sweeping me out to sea..."

There are a lot of psych rock bands who mind the rabid surf rock energy of a Duane Eddy and amp it up or take on the bullfight whip action of Spanish flamenco and mold it with heavy metal intentions but (damn) on the gleefully slippery "Green Tide" South Carolina surf psych rockers Sounds of Blackfox transform aspects of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard-esque psychedelia into Led Zeppelin-esque heaviness within the confines of this one song. The raucous, dense guitar musicality pushed by a slapping beat and hand claps is infectious and elevated by brilliant sandpaper gritty, blues metal sultry lead vox. Absolutely dig the vox and the cinematic flair of the song that slowly burns heavier and heavier and more metal, more iconic the further it burns. Awesome.
