Cheree and the feral industrial punkery of "Churn Down"

"screaming their hearts out"

Sometimes life, things about life, situations that confront us, oppressive systems that were here before we where born and will be here after we die, life makes us want to scream. Raised by Dutch American immigrant parents who taught us to always be polite, I find it difficult to scream. That's why there are bands like Oakland, California's 4 piece industrial noise band Cheree. They can do the screaming for me, sonically flip off the powers that be and they do just that on "Churn Down".

As press notey stuff reveal "this song evokes the violence of wage labor. We are not the sum of our parts—we are solely the labor we contribute to society, objects fulfilling someone's greed".

The guitars screech like zombie pterodactyls, the drums smash things, the bass rumbles and Vanessa's cut throat vocals makes my throat hurt. That's ok, I will politely go make some green tea with lemon and honey.
