boerd and the otherworldly, beguiling "Verging" (feat. Pirkko)

Tip toe up on the unbelievably unique ""Verging" conceived and crafted by boerd, the lowercase moniker of Swedish musician / producer Bård Ericson, and you will certainly find yourself in a state of surprise or even in a state of flabbergastness (if that is a word). The uniqueness is hinged on the trepidation of sparse piano notes and the steadiness of trip hop beats, ambient movements, bass sounds that feel, maybe, more like nature's growing pains and the exquisite otherworldly vocal countenance of the 'anonymous' singer Pirkko.

Against her own ooohs and ahhhs in harmony, her quavering voice that soars to the highest of registers is stunning, beautiful and so compelling. Like an amalgam of artists like Bjork, Klaus Nomi and the alien diva Plavalaguna in the film The Fifth Element, the mysterious Pirkko adds the cherry on the "Verging" cake.

"Verging" is a song about change, about standing on the verge of something unknown. Released May 17th through Blunda Records.

« boerd » (pronounced bored) is the alias of swedish musician/producer Bård Ericson.

Bård started out making chiptunes around the age of 15 (in 2006), and after a few years in the netlabel chipscene, he began experimenting with other styles of electronic music. Since 2011 he has released five EPs and five albums as « boerd », and have developed a quite unique sound – a melodic and dreamy mix between ambient, triphop and electronica, often using acoustic samples of piano, guitar and voices.

He's frequently playing with the Swedish Royal Philharmonic, Royal Opera and Radio Symphony Orchestra. His two albums ‘Static’ (2018) and ‘Misplaced’ (2019), were both released on Anjunadeep and has reached more than 25 million streams across platforms, and recieved recognition from BBC Radio1, Billboard, Mixmag and Clash Magazine. Since 2022, Bård has decided to go independent and created his own record label Blunda, where he released his latest album 'Caution: Fragile'.
