"evaporate... can you leave it all behind..."
From R00's EP "Songs for Old Racehorses", the compelling sonic iconography of "Broken Wings" is revealed in grand and intimate moments. There is a sense of bohemian folk, of 80's warehouse shows and 90's college radio, the haze and out of faze aesthetic of a Mazzy Star or The Jesus And Mary Chain but also touches of current bedroom pop and lush pop noir pulp fiction. The vocal persona here and sound of the voice (it's character) is equally alluring and I imagine even in a speaking tone that the voice is totally engaging.
One of favorite sections is might be at 50 second when everything seems to strip away except for acoustic guitar, sideways electric guitar leads and, of course, the perfectly magnetic vox. The outro is similar in it's raw pull as is slowly fades out. Wow.
