Stockholm romantic / lofi indie band Planet Ibiza take a trip to "george's shelter" and it feels like an earthy elegant drive. The song blends, a string quartet sound, complete with plucked strings pushing the song forward with modern percussive tones, what sounds like electric guitar, bass and synth eventually falling into place. The mix of classic orchestrations and synth pop reminds me of Mark Mothersbaugh's 111 Archer Avenue and Mothersbaugh's Canon from Wes Anderson's 2001 The Royal Tenenbaums, one of my favorite soundtracks.
In fact, the beautiful wonkiness here coupled with the loveliest of vocals creates a motif, a musical waltz of sorts that would feel at home in a Wes Anderson flick, past, present or future.
