It's not easy writing a Christmas song. Pairing words and melody within the inherent nostalgic joy and, for many, inherent seasonal sadness is like walking on a tightrope of Christmas strung lights but ROSIE succeeds in touching us in the stunningly beautiful, yet glacially somber "It's Not Christmas". As Christmas-eeee as this song is, and ROSIE's songwriting perfectly cast imagery of the holiday accoutrements like stockings hung up, ugly sweaters, and past memories, ultimately "It's Not Christmas" is a beautiful heartbreaker.
I absolutely adore ROSIE's vocal countenance, emotionally wrought with the loveliest timbre that feels timeless really.
