Who knows why certain sounds, songs, stick to your brain, burrow deep in your psyche causing you to ruminate about it's meaning or how it's meaning, as you perceive it to be, relates to why you are gravitating to it. These thoughts occurred to me while getting lulled into a certain mindset listening to "Silent Night" by creative best friends Blocktane & Mahaji (along with collaborators lealia and nate2timez).
** Released with Purple Crunch Records, Best friends Blocktane and Mahaji worked for months on this collection of songs from the EP "4 Kako".
The artists here, all involved, balance sonic temperaments so well. Like a watercolorist blending with a finite pallette, Blocktane & Mahaji, lealia and nate2timez make the synthetic feel organic, the spectrum in the mix draw highs and lows in well defined ways. The juxtaposition of opposites, of haze and intimate, upfront vox feel like memories existing with surreal ghosts in our dreams. Love the totality here, nothing feels off, the focused and out of focus compliment each other as does the dirty vintage elements against crystalline fresh sonic imagery. It is so evocative that you can let this play on repeat and get lost forever.

Blocktane is an intensely motivated and hardworking, 17 year old MUSICIAN.
He creates beats, sure.
But he also make sample packs, original samples from scratch that other Producers use.
He sings and plays guitar, keys, and so much more.

Given the name Mahaji ( Mahaji- means new life ) by his older cousin, best friend, Grandmother, Aunt who have all passed. Mahaji intends to give life to their names even if they're no longer in the living. He knows their lives weren't always the way they would've intended it to be, So he intends to take on the weight and pressure of their spirits.
