KOPECKY FAMILY BAND

DEBUT ALBUM KIDS RAISING KIDS IN STORES NOW VIA ATO RECORDS

Check out "HOPE" VIDEO PREMIERE ON MTVHIVE

SPRING TOUR UNDERWAY & NEW MAY DATES ADDED

"There's great excitement in the way the band can go from zero-to-sixty, then back to zero in seconds flat...there remains a sonic unpredictability that's rare for bands that count on vocal harmonies to carry much of the load." - American Songwriter

"...a beautifully moving record that is full of life from all angles." - Last.fm

"This isn't one's typical Nashville fare -- the album sounds more like a cross between California pop and British Invasion, with a hefty dose of Byrdsian folk-rock guitars, heavily echoed vocals, and nary a drawl in sight." - All Music Guide

Kopecky Family Band's debut album Kids Raising Kids arrived in stores yesterday via ATO Records. In celebration, the band premiered a new video for album track "Hope" today on MTVHive. The triumphant, cinematic A.K. Hottman-directed clip can now be seen here: http://www.mtvhive.com/2013/04/03/kopecky-family-band-hope-video/. A full stream of Kids Raising Kids is available all week long via AOL Music's Spinner (http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/spinner#/3), while a full stream accompanied by the band's track-by-track commentary can also be heard via Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/ato_records/sets/kopecky-family-band-kids).

The Nashville-based band is currently in the midst of a west coast headlining tour, which continues tonight at Brick & Mortar in San Francisco and tomorrow at The Satellite in Los Angeles. After closing out April with a performance at the Double Decker Festival in Oxford, MS on the 27th, Kopecky Family Band will hit the road again in May, first with He's My Brother She's My Sister and then again as a headliner. A current itinerary is below - including a May 16th show at the Mercury Lounge in New York - and more dates will be announced soon.

Kids Raising Kids is the sound of a band coming into its own and as a whole truly greater than the sum of its parts. It's an adventurous record, the unmistakably open sound varying from the playful sing-along pop of "Heartbeat" to the haunting heartbreak of ballad "Change;" from the classic swing verse and mountainous chorus of "My Way" to the bright, breezy soar of "The Glow;" and from the chiming, cello-laden drive of "Hope" to the darker, propulsive "She's The One." The bright, irrepressible songs on Kids Raising Kids deal with navigating waters of change and facing challenges, and also see the band challenging themselves by creating a bigger sound than anything they've done before. The album, which began as another EP but bloomed into a full-length LP, also marks the first time contributions from all six members are upfront alongside and in complement to the leadership of Kelsey Kopecky and Gabe Simon.

Kopecky Family Band are not a family by blood, but by bond - through the palpable sense of community and care for one another that the members share (as the new album's title suggests), forged by time and touring. The band has amassed fans the old fashioned way: through a near-constant touring schedule that began almost immediately, with dates booked at first during breaks from their time at Belmont University. In addition to past tours with The Lumineers, Gogol Bordello, Devotchka, Gomez, and Givers, among others, Kopecky Family Band has performed at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and SXSW. The band has earned attention from press such as Paste ('25 Best Live Acts' and '20 Best New Bands' of 2011) and NPR (Tiny Desk Concert), and their songs have been featured on primetime TV shows, including: Grey's Anatomy (ABC), Parenthood (NBC), The Vampire Diaries (The CW), MTV Awkward, Beauty & The Beast (The CW), and College Game Day (ESPN).

Kopecky Family Band is: Kelsey Kopecky (vocals, keys, bass), Gabe Simon (vocals, guitar, horns), Steven Holmes (guitar, lap steel), David Krohn (drums), Markus Midkiff (cello, guitar, keys), and Corey Oxendine (bass, guitar, horns).
