"and everything takes time"
A.O. Gerber (aka Olivia Gerber) makes music that sometimes serenades you in comely ways, screams at you, tosses out sardonic quips and casts side eyed stares. The track In The Morning seems to do all of that and more. Gerber's ability to write beautiful roller coaster melodies, embraced by indie rock guitars, divergent percussive sounds, spartan keys, horn orchestrations and lush harmonies and go from deceptively mellow croons to defiant empowering wails is just a beautiful thing. We need artists who dare to write personal and complex songs and present them in original ways like A.O. Gerber.
A.O. Gerber has her first full-length album in the works, co-produced by her and Madeline Kenney.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Coming from a life characterized by luscious terrain and a childhood influenced by her father’s affinity for jazz, L.A. based, North County born A.O. Gerber (AKA Olivia Gerber) creates savory melodic soundscapes with her ethereal vocals and lush arrangements.
Over the years and in a myriad of settings—from her childhood in the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest, to her years spent in New York City and rural Vermont—A.O. Gerber has worked diligently on her music privately and with intimate groups of collaborators. But after self-releasing her first EP, Fathers, she began to explore herself sonically and collaboratively. Soon after moving to LA, Gerber began playing songs with a friend, which lead to the eventual meeting of her backing band as it currently exists—her own little community in a sprawling and lonely city. Since then, she’s made her mark on the L.A. music community as a performer and collaborator—sharing bills with Sharon Silva (of The Wild Reeds), Rosie Tucker, Field Medic, Pavo Pavo, Johanna Samuels, Night Shop, and Sofia Wolfson and performing as a backup singer and bassist for local bands including runnner, Green Gerry and Derek Ted. Her and her band (which includes Alex Onate on drums, Danny Campos on bass, Chris Pucher on guitar and gg singing backup) have become known for their captivating live shows, with dreamy guitar soundscapes, amplified by gg’s intricate live vocal processing, and Gerber’s arresting and raw vocal performance, which travels seamlessly from an intimate whisper to an uninhibited belt.
In her work, this singer-songwriter vividly catalogs vulnerability and the complexity of emotion. You feel the honesty in which her voice breaks through. With a passion and yearning for the many places she’s called home, A.O. Gerber’s inspirations run deep and wide. Drawing from inside herself and those around her, her tunes ooze with psychic dexterity, intimate decadence, and fringe-lying inflections. Her hard-pressed lyrics contain immersive imagery, allowing listeners to melt into the words.
A.O. Gerber is currently at work on her first full-length album, co-produced by her and Madeline Kenney.
