Cathedrals endearing 80's sound on "Jump In" is all in

Jump In by Cathedrals is drenched in a kind of 80's pop sensibility in the best possibly way. The bells from heaven sound, Roland D-50 sounding drone, synth hand claps, drum machine and hooky endearing chorus complete and arpeggio rich keys. It is as if elements of Madonna, Whitney Houston and Purity Ring melded, twisted, turned and coalesced into this lovely sound. Brodie Jenkins thankfully seems to embrace the lush vocal sound with an intimate and sultry sad hush. Her partner and partner in crime Johnny Hwin embellishes his synth sounds in an earnest homage-esque way without trying to filter in post rock or post punk elements.
