When The Cloud Explodes by The Empty Page out of Northwest England instantly erupts with heavy attacks of sound, big bass and drums and sonic guitar blasts but maybe the most potent element is bassist Kel's strident vox. The track has a decidedly 90's post punk jagged feel but there are hits of grunge too. The song does not let up. It is all fury until the very end. Taking their name from a Sonic Youth song inspired by Jack Kerouac, Kel (Vox/bass), Giz (Guitars) and Jim (Drums/Vox) have been building a beloved following since their inception in a cold and drafty warehouse in Ancoats, Manchester.
