Giacomo Modica and Scott Foster Harris
Giacomo Modica (Nine Even) is a creatively busy man. His brain is full of stories, enough to fill up a book or, at least, a comic book and concept album that he plans on blending together as one will inform the other. The project is called "Lexiconmind" and the album and art will be released in May of this year (2020). The story centers around 3 distinct characters involving themes of circumstance, consequence and perception. The track Simple Wonders is the first song (glimpse) told from one character's (Elias Urbain) point of view. As Modica offers:
"Simple Wonders is the first song from Elias Urbain's POV on the album. The song ruminates on how a sense memory from a place or object (for Elias' it is a pocket watch he was given) triggers all kinds of memories. In his case, Elias remembers meeting the love of his life in a crowded room. They meet by chance, and their meeting sent his life in a completely different direction then he had planned. The Simple Wonders are how random choices, or turns on the road of life can lead to new relationships he would never have thought possible."
Modica (writer, guitarist, producer) is based in the Bay area (Ca.) and is utilizing the talents of Travis Quinn (Sun Valley Gun Club) on drums and Scott Foster Harris (Orchid's Bloom) on lead vocals. Simple Wonders starts off with tones that remind me in some way of a warning signal, the drum beats shuffles, the bass and guitars stalk and Harris's vox have a post rock tone, classic and a cool sound when he pushes his register. Modica's bendy guitar progs during the music breaks feel a bit grungy but with post punk postures and proggy rock affectations too. This song cuts such a nice groove, creates such a cool atmosphere that flies by really. Looking forward to hearing more from "Lexiconmind".

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Giacomo Modica offers:
"Simple Wonders" is a song I wrote as part of my concept album "Lexiconmind" which I'm releasing 5/29/20. "Lexiconmind" is an album primarily about three characters and explores how they deal with three main themes. 1) Their pasts, and the circumstances/consequences they live with, 2) Perception. Both how the characters perceive themselves, and how the world perceives them, and 3) Where to go from here? "Simple Wonders" is the first song from Elias Urbain's POV on the album. The song ruminates on how a sense memory from a place or object (for Elias' it is a pocket watch he was given) triggers all kinds of memories. I have working on the "Lexiconmind" for awhile now, putting all the story lines together. It will be the first release I put out under my own name, Giacomo Modica. I used to be in a Northern California band named Nine Even from 2001-2010. I recorded this album with Travis Quinn (Sun Valley Gun Club) on drums, and Scott Foster Harris (Orchid's Bloom) on lead vocals. I have a lot of personal stuff into the story, and "Lexiconmind" is a step towards "leaving it all on the page". Artwork for the "Lexiconmind" project is being handled by GMB Chomichuk (Good Boys, Infinitum, SuperPulpScience Podcast).
