Track Review
WARNING: If you listen to Glow by LUC you might feel unneccesarily cool. Do you remember the 1994 dark and dirty Closer by Nine Inch Nails?? Of course you do. It was subversive for it's time. I instantly thought of that song as Glow started out, then it became that song sort of turned inside out. Kari Kimmel's alluring coo combined with the industrial rock pushed through shiny pop filters is incredibly infectious. If you are cooking up tacos while listening they will taste better. If you are driving down the road in your beat up 1992 Miata it will feel like a muscle car. LUC call this sound, "Garagetronic" but, don't for a minute think that the garage is a mess with kayaks strewn about as Kimmel and, her partner in crime, Joe Corcoran have written songs for The Backstreet Boys, Ke$ha and Demi Lavato. Kari Kimmel's captivating vox have graced three platinum records and five gold soundtracks so yes they are not quite artists "not covered by the Pitchfork Medias of the world" as American Pancakes mission statement declares but every rule has an exception... and fuck, it is such a cool track.
