"the chessboard shuck without a sound"
The deadly beautiful track,Yaläkta, by Black Lilys (the French brother and sister duo Camille and Robin Faure) moves on steady sliding guitar notes and Camille's low sadly cemented vox. When the chorus washes over you literally with stirred echoes as created by Robin and Camille's harmonies (and later by) percussive beats it is a truly beautiful thing in it's heavy sadness. It leaves a lasting impression, so much so, that when it sneaks away to only reveal Camille's tenderly struck down vocals you will probably stop breathing in the middle of an inhalation. Beautiful, moving and cinematic, Yaläkta, does leave an impression on you.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
BLACK LILYS are French brother and sister duo Camille & Robin Faure. They produce bright pop music that balances both strength and vulnerability, a smooth blend between Robin’s driving guitar melodies and Camille’s effortless, breathy singing. They offer a strikingly unique sound with their purely organic tones reminiscent of the work of Angus and Julia Stone, The XX or Aurora. Following the release of their debut album Boxes in 2018, Netflix featured one of their songs Nightfall for their series Elite. The song reached over the 1.000 000 streams. They are currently recording their 2nd album.
This first album, powerful and full of emotion, tenderness, at the same time, recalls, in a way, Björk, Ben Howard, The XX or Aurora. However, it is strikingly unique due to the highly modern realization based exclusively on organic sounds. An invitation to a deep introspective voyage, warm and universal.

AND...
Black Lilys is the sweet blend naturally born between Camille’s husky voice and Robin’s sombre guitar melodies. Together, they offer us a strong indie pop with folk nuances, because they love to combine contrasts. Following their EP “Memories of a Blind Mind” released in 2014, the brother sister duo flavours the musical landscape with their sensitive force, inviting us in the intimacy of a rage that does not leave us indifferent. Multiplying their concerts in these past 3 years, their complicity seems even more obvious and their sincerity wins the adhesion of the public.
