Creed Bratton, simultaneously, has to live as Creed Bratton, singer songwriter, musician, actor and. to those "The Office" sycophants, as the oddly askew Creed Bratton, quality assurance director (and maybe psychopath) at Dunder Mifflin. Both of those personas do absolutely have one thing in common, they both were members of the late sixties chart topping rock band, The Grass Roots, who toured with Cream, The Beach Boys, The Doors, The Young Rascals and more. The real, actual Creed Bratton will release his ninth full length album, "Slightly Altered" set to drop on July 17th, 2020. The first single is the oddly askew, Chan Chu Toad. It is a surprising jammy rocker that b'ends garden rock, light jazz, with light doses of psyche rock intentions as Bratton's vocals adeptly stirs intoxicated words, "she's got three legs, a coin in her mouth... you put her on your money, keep the bad guys out" with a wide eyed animated performance. The musicality here is excellent and in the end, after a killer jam (impressive lead work), I felt in some ways a car crash of Dire Straits, Steely Dan and Dr. Dog.
Of "Slightly Altered", Bratton offers:
“This is my most personal album to date. It took me over a year to record it and I am so proud of what has emerged. Our country and world are in a dark place, but we have to go through this catharsis to come into the light. I truly believe that healing and music are intertwined, and my humble hope is that this record can play some part in that.”
The players: Creed Bratton (guitar, vox, guzheng), Dave Way (synth), Val McCallum (guitar, Background vox), Davey Faragher (bass, backgroud vox) and Pete Thomas (drums, percussion)

CREED BRATTON SET TO RELEASE NINTH FULL LENGTH ALBUM “SLIGHTLY ALTERED” ON JULY 17, 2020
Award nominated actor and folk-rock musician Creed Bratton announced today that his highly anticipated, ninth full length album entitled “Slightly Altered” will be released on July 17, 2020. LOS ANGELES, CA (JUNE 9, 2020) – Award-nominated actor and folk-rock musician Creed Bratton (“The Office”) announced today that his highly anticipated, ninth full-length album, “Slightly Altered,” will be released on July 17, 2020. Produced by Grammy award-winning producer Dave Way (Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Fiona Apple) and Dillion O’Brien, “Slightly Altered” is a 10- track journey across a mystical and sublime musical soundscape.
“(Bratton’s) not so much a singer/songwriter as he is a sorcerer, alchemist and mad doctor,” O’Brien said. “He harnesses the forgotten forces of nature to bring new manifestations of energy, light, love and life to an often dull and dreary world.”
The first single, “Chan Chu Toad,” will drop on June 12, 2020 with the second single, “The Ride,” slated for release on July 10, 2020. A re-recording of “Temptation Eyes” – originally released by Bratton’s 1970s band, The Grass Roots – reimagines the punchy hit as a soulful ballad. And the closing track, “Right Where I Belong,” is a sweet, easy-paced reflection on contentment.
“Creed’s a man who’s done things, seen things,” Dave Way said. “The scars make for some pretty tough skin…but under (Bratton’s) steely eyed, leathered exterior is a big and grateful heart. I’ve seen it, and that’s what you’ll hear on this album.”
“This is my most personal album to date,” Bratton said. “It took me over a year to record it and I am so proud of what has emerged. Our country and world are in a dark place, but we have to go through this catharsis to come into the light. I truly believe that healing and music are intertwined, and my humble hope is that this record can play some part in that.”
