"I'll be a hair in the teeth of this beast"
Los Angeles based alt rock band French Mouth is not content to make basic rock and roll. Just listen to their latest Paper Tiger with the brash staccato guitar lines that attack and descend, doing a complex dance with the bass and drums, that form a sinewy framework for Dee Frank's wailing fox. Vox that seem to blend elements of punk, spoken word, hip hop and alt rock croons.
From the band:
"Paper Tiger is an allusion to the old Chinese phrase 'zhilaohu'. 'When something appears to be more threatening than it actually is', we oftentimes create archetypes that are projections of ours fears. The song is inspired by my struggle with mental health and trauma that manifests itself throughout my day-to-day. When I dig deeper, it is not an outward enemy but myself and my fears I have to come to terms with and face. This song helps remind me to take care of myself."
Paper Tiger was written and recorded by Los Angeles. Engineered by Josh Franks at JFM Studios in Burbank, Ca and Mastered by Nick Townsend. French Mouth is slated to release it's first EP "Paper Tiger" August 14th, 2020.
French Mouth is Dee Frank (guitar, vox), Jacque Parras (guitar), Brittany Macc (drums) and Brandon Reyes (bass).

A little dose of anger is simply not enough. California rock quartet French Mouth's debut EP Paper Tiger rips and sears through thick layers of emotional fabric, cutting deep to the essence of truth when it comes to living in a world in which we have no choice but shape for ourselves. Led by vocalist and guitarist Dee Frank, Paper Tiger sounds unmistakably urgent and up-close, cementing French Mouth as one of the most exciting new rock bands right now and providing more fuel for all of our emotional fires.
