Sweden based Moonspeak's latest track Common Ground feels more earthbound than some of their previous releases. At the helm, singer songwriter Robert Jallinder has left some of the surreal art rock affections at the door. 'Common Ground' feels more grounded as it rides quickly like a train on the rails but there are still dreams to be had, still moments of awe and wonder. This indie rocker has a storyteller folk heart amid the sort of 80's synths. I feel a convergence of the Killers and even Future Islands and a small dose of ABBA (seriously) twisted with a sense of Americana blue collar rock. If that sounds a bit odd, a bit complex, I wouldn't expect less from Moonspeak.
Debut album ”Nowanights” was produced by band member Jakob Kullberg and is set for an early fall release.
