Johnny Cisneros has something to say. As front man and singer-songwriter for The Caracals and on their latest churn and burner, R U N, the band cranks up the distortion and free wheeling post punk energy. In previous tracks, this passion was always there to some degree but Cisneros mined garage rock tones in a soup of tropical punk, power pop and post punk. R U N is a fervent call to arms- READ from the the man himself:
["R U N," is a call to action to fight for what you believe in. The acronym "R U N" is the question, Are You In? The song is asking the listeners and people as a whole if they are going to join the movements for change happening in our country now. I am planning to donate a portion of the proceeds of this song to help organizations helping the movement against police brutality. The song is the 3rd single off of The Caracal's 2nd EP.]
There is nothing like hard passion and social injustice to fuel the protest fires. I like this other side of The Caracals which made me think of a crushing together of The Cult, Japandroids and Thee Oh Sees.

Fronted by up-and-coming songwriter Johnny Cisneros, The Caracals are forging their path in the garage rock music scene. The band hails from Santa Ana, CA where they bring you a fresh garage rock sound with alt-rock production.

Johnny has wrapped up his second studio effort, Dust & Honey, which will be released in March 2020. The anticipated title single - Dust & Honey (2019) - features modern blues sounds that highlight the energy the new EP embodies. The Caracals are a promising outfit that will keep the fire of rock alive. Exploring Psychedelic and Punk sounds, Johnny promises an "introspective and loud" EP.
The Caracals canceled their West Coast Tour in March because of Covid 19. However, they are releasing their new single R U N on July 3rd, 2020.
