Southern California based LA River Crossing is a rock collective comprised of former members of The Brevet, Grey Season, Work Friend and Nilu who came together during the Covid 19 quarantine. The band's debut single "3D" was actually written over a decade ago by songwriter, bassist Ben Ross, a song penned for his wife. The collab hinged on video sharing platforms.
"3D" is fueled with a rolling wall of sounds and while you can feel it's indie rock drive soon enough as it jams with deliciously inspired lead work, it also has a sort of elegant folk rock orchestration thing happening bathed in lovely garden rock vibes. Amid the dreamy strings and post rock heaviness too, it is Brandon Osorio's inviting croon that feels like the connective tissue holding all the disparate sounds together. His tender, yet joyous folk tinged vocal aesthetic pulls you in like an embrace.
The nature and spirit of this collab requires listing all the talented folks who contributed:

[“3D” is a song Ben Ross wrote 10 years ago for his now wife after spending part of the summer away from each other during college. He started missing his friends during this quarantine, and the song popped back into his head and put a smile on his face. He realized how apropos this song is to what we’re going through collectively right now. It’s been tough not seeing loved ones in the same way as before as we all try to stay safe and keep others safe during this awful pandemic.]

Since COVID-19 hit, we’ve all been stuck at home and musicians hungry to collaborate have found themselves in a tricky situation, unable to record together in studios. While various members of SoCal-based LA River Crossing have played together for years, to do their part to slow the spread of COVID, members of the group recorded their parts remotely. LA River Crossing is comprised of former members of The Brevet, Grey Season, Work Friend, and Nilu. Unable to be together in person, with the help of technological marvels of the modern world, recording their debut single “3D” was a connecting experience during this lonely time.
