Speak Easy Circus rebuke the misogynistic pieces of sh*t among us - "Lions Should Hunt"

In the musical landscape there are a lot of copies or at least artists so similar as to look like a sea of faceless musical mannequins all dressed the same. So when something entirely different pops up, something a bit subversive and musically so divergent that any of the latest current musical tropes are not even in their bag of tricks at all, you take notice. Such is the experimental jazz / punk outfit Speak Easy Circus from the East End of Glasgow. Their inventive and surprising "Lions Should Hunt" a grinding fusion of seemingly opposing assaults with guitar rhythms between ska and 2 tone punk vibes, swirling horns piercing in a jazz meets punk meets 2 tone and more, massive drums and bass lines tightly wound together and vocal aesthetics clearly poised with jazz, pop, punk affections and spoken word throw downs.

At one point, when this insane musical breakdown takes over with horns ablaze, jamming rhythm section and an exquisitely nasty sax solo it is a ferocious and glorious thing. Speak Easy Circus is Jack Avison (Guitar/vocals/keys), Jon Wallace (Sax/Keys), Frazer Laurie (Drums) and Chatonda Ridley (Bass).

Speak Easy Circus are an experimental jazz/punk posse from the East End of Glasgow.
