"I can try to make it one more night"
"Tequila Shooters" by Queens based artist, musician, rocker (band) JW Farrell (by way of Philadelphia PA) is deceptive in it's shape shifting rock narrative. It starts out like a sort of bar brawling head banging blues boogie rocker with 70's garden rock affections. Farrell's vocal aesthetic feels like part urban busker punk and part garage blues rocker. The song ramps up, burning and then blows up, shifting into something that feels art rockish with glam around the edges. The surprising eruption takes it to another level. It feels artfully grand and audacious.
"Tequila Shooters" is the final single off of Farrell upcoming album "Far From It" due out in May. The artist shares:
"Its lyrics are snapshot of the life of a man in his twenties trying to figure out who he is and where he belongs. Tequila Shooters, along with 8 other songs, was recorded in a whirlwind of a weekend in a mobile studio set up in a house in Ocean City NJ last winter before the pandemic."
