I don't really know anything about Dingzui but I can tell you that I am enamored with their Covid informed and spawned divergent art rockish track "Scaryoke" ::: "a story from quarantine - a struggling woman breaks risks her life and breaks quarantine to sing karaoke again", and while the raw, stripped down 90's college indie rock radio style (musically speaking) is so cool, it is the run off lyrics, poetically askew and potent in their kind of busker punk intricacies that hook me in sharply. I love the word morsels sung with a nice sort of dejection and snarl that I had to find them. They are pasted below people. You can thank me later-

Misquoting Emerson, are you listening? / still in the clothes you wore to a christening / left out your body, and your O-type of blood / Returned to us breathless by miracle drug / now you're / catatonic, astonished by the new year / singing auld lang syne to the woman in the mirror / if you ever had a god you are gonna need her now / smoking at a window in a hospital gown just to lose / the quarantine blues / your conscience is broken, you're coming out tonight / you don't feel like singing sober? that sounds about right / don't know about this country, don't know about this life / you're scared to sing sober? that sounds about right / miss "I'll feel better when I take my medicine" / the comet that just missed the moon left it glistening / and out of the safety and into the night / where your train's running backwards to the new frontline / slightly drunk and totally wasted / seeking out the places where your city makes mistakes / and if you ever had a song you ought to sing it now / fighting for your life in a deathwish crowd just to lose / the quarantine blues / your conscience is broken, you're coming out tonight / you don't feel like singing sober? / that sounds about right / don't know about this country, don't know about this life / you're scared to sing sober? that sounds about right /
Just make dead presidents, leave no evidence / pour hot lead on fascists that storm all our exits / and if you leave out your body to the heavens about / you'll sing karaoke with the people you love and you'll lose / the quarantine blues / your conscience is broken, you're coming out tonight / you don't feel like singing sober? that sounds about right / don't know about this country, don't know about this life / you're scared to sing sober? that sounds about right
