"Vatican City" by Toronto based hybrid artist Jaz Valentino flows in a translucent haze of melancholic R&B indie with a rap patina stirring up images fused together with droning synths, a smooth beat and flourishes of jazztronic tones. Of the addictive and moving dirge, that floats between a lullaby and a eulogy, Valentino shares:
"Vatican City is honestly where I’m at right now at this point in my life! Old friends passing away too young because of violence or friends in jail for decades because of crimes at a young age. I want to show the kids caught up in shit that there is always a way to soar up This song is for the lost youth that need a light Whether it be my brothers or countless others! A chance to help people see more than just the same world and illuminate a new one."
Love this track and I think that more people will eventually here "Vatican City" than not. Jaz Valentino's star is rising quickly and that is not surprising given the emotional center that he brings to his material. The Official Video as directed and edited by fatty soprano and shutter only illuminates the song more. Jaz Valentino's full length album "Day 7" is coming soon.
