"on Philadelphia I'm bleeding like a stray..."
"Dance Under Pressure" by indie rock three piece Vincent & the Noise starts with a lush 1950's vintage crystal organ sound until it is stomped out by cool 60's funky guitar strikes and a pushed bass and drum groove. When David Vincent starts to croon over pearly Fender Rhodes-esque keys you might, like me, be captivated with his vocal aesthetic and to further the multi-genre ladder, I am feeling a beautifully deep 70's patina. I, in fact, flashed on an amalgam of Steely Dan and Roxy Music. Vincent describes the track as "a heartfelt tale of a lost and closeted soul in Philadelphia, pleading for one night to finally be himself and love the man that he wants to love." and when the funk pop groove gives way to dreamy chamber pop vibratone guitars and lush strings, I saw disco glitter balls turning in slow motion and peg legged pants and creepers start to waltz. Love this track and love that Vincent and the boys oftentimes utilize field-recordings and atmospheric sounds AND record their music using only analog technologies. Yes.

Balancing chaos and serenity, Vincent & the Noise is an indie rock three-piece from Waldwick, New Jersey led by 20 year-old singer, songwriter, and producer David Vincent. David is backed by friends and musicians alike, including core members Dan Rinaldi (Drums) and Dylan Scully (Bass/Vocals). Of their debut EP, Mikey Way (My Chemical Romance, Electric Century) offered his praise, “It’s a remarkable start - from a brilliant songwriter with a truly bright future ahead of him.” Vincent & the Noise lure the listener into their home-studio before taking them beyond; grabbing them by the shoulders and turning them to face the noise of the world around them. Often utilizing field-recordings and atmospheric sounds, Vincent & the Noise set the landscape before painting their melodies with an array of reverb-soaked guitars, soaring Beach Boys-esque harmonies, colorful string quartets, and synthesizers.
