Louisville, Kentucky based Delafaye (the folk toned indie rock project of singer songwriter Andrew Shockley) shoots Americana sounds down like dice in an alley. On his latest, "Rolling Thunder", with a melancholy vocal aesthetic, earnest acoustic guitar and a garden rock vibe, he adeptly creates a heartland atmosphere, spartan emotionality that builds creating evocative and endearing imagery. A follow up to this year's recent single "Ultraviolent" that feels like a broader darker view behind white picket fences burns in a more indie rock way but still tells folk tales.
Having released his first EP "The Hilltop" in 2017, the second Delafaye EP called "Highlands" (in 2018) along with more singles and performances since. Expect a new EP released in early 2022.

On 'Rolling Thunder' he continues his tradition of creating melancholic, relatable, and endearing folk songs. This follows his recent return single 'Ultraviolent' where he built on his hallmark folk / Americana sound with subtle psychedelic overtones still present in both singles.
Ever prolific, Delafaye (moniker of Andrew Shockley) has spent the last year re-establishing his roots at home in his native Louisville, Kentucky. Moving to a new house and more importantly taking with him his home studio which forms at integral part of his home life, crafting a brand-new batch of songs that are laced with the melancholy of the most classic Delafaye songs.
Of his past releases, his debut EP ‘The Hilltop’, released in January 2017, garnered high praise with lead single ‘Time and Money’ receiving over two months local radio playlist rotation on WFPK and to date has 4 million streams alone. The resulting praise led to a support slot for San Fermin at Headliners Music Hall and high profile supports for Cory Brannan, Blank Range, Arlie and many others whilst also gaining him a nomination for Singer-Songwriter of the Year at the Louisville Music Awards, eventually coming in runner up to Joan Shelley.
The following year saw the release of second EP ‘Highlands’. A beautiful, dream-like slice of Americana exploring past relationships and his decorated past. He part promoted it by making his US morning TV debut on WHAS-11 and playing shows both solo and full band around Kentucky and his first ever out of state shows. This was all followed swiftly by an acoustic EP recorded at Delafaye’s old stomping ground, the Air Devils Inn.
As writing for the upcoming EP continued, he stockpiled songs, ensuring thankfully that there will be an abundance of new Delafaye music on its way, enough even to already be making plans for a second new EP for early 2022, honing these songs to the point that they are more than ready to be released and simply could not be contained any longer. They arrive at a perfect time for Delafaye to re-emerge back on to the scene and captivate anyone lucky enough to hear these new songs all over again.
‘Rolling Thunder’ will be released on June 11th, 2021 on his longtime label Street Mission Records (distributed by [PIAS]) and will be included in an upcoming label compilation album celebrating 5 years of the label.
Delafaye’s first new EP will be released late 2021 (Release date and title to be announced very soon) with more new music promised well in to 2022.
