"If I had any less of it / I would be a fucking stick..."
London based tummyache's punk punch and swing of "DIY!!" is about the most mosh-worthy track I have heard in several months. tummyache is the alt rock project of singer-songwriter, engineer, producer, DIY-ist, Soren Bryce and was born as a cathartic form of sonic therapy while living in Brooklyn. There her anxiety would manifest in tummy aches, hence her self proclaimed moniker. Bryce's latest upcoming album was crafted during the height of the pandemic in a shed in her parent's backyard and "DIY!!" is the first single. This new album will be a follow up to her debut EP "HUMPDAY" which was also self produced.
"When the pandemic started I didn't have any intention of creating anything new, just set up shop in my parent's backyard shed and after 8 weeks had an entirely new record. This is the first single." - soren bryce
While a lot of punk thrashing is occurring, "DIY!!'s" chorus exclaims amidst Bryce's feral wails and yelps "The world's not showing up for me! The world's not showing up for me! The world's not showing up for me! But there's no guarantee" and in light of that aforementioned pandemic that itself is changing shape each day, those words feel like a ton of bricks. Especially, the no guarantee part. All the more reason to punch and swing your way through life.
