"some times I feel like I am dead..."
Judging by the running sonic river that is "I Tell You What", six piece Hull (UK) based, Low Hummer, want to make you feel something, want to create a artful disturbance that make you want to move and tear thing up, not physically but emotionally. There are many hints to their world view as they pull stories from the world in large and in their micro world. The track with touches of multiple voices as lead singers and all together in subtle gang vox has both a dark yet beautiful anthemic quality that swings but also coated with a patina of nihilism (maybe that is my own projection).
I like the sound that for some inexplicable reason had me thinking of a crushing amalgam of Arcade Fire, Gang of Four, Sonic Youth the Pixies and Pet Shop Boys (my mind works in mysterious ways). I like this from Daniel, Aimee, Steph, Jack, John and Joe's press stuff:
"Brought up on a diet of chip spice and patty butties, in the sweat dripping walls of The Adelphi, Low Hummer are a battered, bruised and wired bunch of odd bods armed with synthesizers, drum machines and distorted guitars (and a scratched copy of ‘Surfer Rosa’ in their back pocket)."

Low Hummer are a fast-rising six piece from Hull that write about their life in deepest darkest East Yorkshire and their place in a world of consumerism and bad news stories sold as gospel. Daniel, Aimee, Steph, Jack, John and Joe came together from the far corners of the city’s tight knit DIY community, established a regular rehearsal home in iconic DIY venue The New Adelphi Club and set about honing their righteous, danceable garage rock before announcing themselves in late 2019 and introducing the world to Low Hummer - this band of misfits from a town left behind.
