"let her fly, let it die..."
Amsterdam SIR NO SIR is an 11 piece musical art collective with childhood friends and songwriters Tessa Nikopoulos and Toon Raaf at it's core. Step into the synth / organic art pop diorama of "Stay With Me" with the dense layers, heavy textured bass waves and solid pushed beat that feels like heavy steps, plodding and pushing emotional tonnage up a hill. This framework holds girl / boy vox that seem to dance with each other via angular harmonies with moments of dissonance while orchestrated strings lift the heavy load off the ground.
The ensemble is an amalgamation of classical chamber and contemporary rock and electro musicians, topped off with six vocalists and a full length debut album is on the way introduced by a live concert November 28th (2021) at the Zonnehuis venue in Amsterdam. Details on their website.

SIR NO SIR is a new, 11-piece band with childhood friends and songwriters Tessa Nikopoulos and Toon Raaf at the core. After some years exploring the world apart, they reunited to join forces on a new musical venture.
The ensemble is an amalgamation of classical chamber and contemporary rock and electro musicians, topped off with six vocalists. Their resulting power is moving, captivating and invigorating.
SIR NO SIR empower their audience by providing a sounding board for reflection and action. Navigating topics such as climate change, gender and identity, they place dynamic vocal harmonies at the backbone of their sound, fleshed out with political and intimate lyrics.
Their versatile arrangements are reminiscent of the classic ballads of CSNY and Fleetwood Mac, incorporating hints of 90s Radiohead and Portishead, as well as soft and cinematic elements echoing Patrick Watson and Olafur Arnalds.
