"these are the best days, the best days of our lives..."
As the original members of Blink 182 are all 50 or approaching that age milestone, the pop punk genre is alive and well, never gone away really and with 85 million skateboarders in the world (last time I counted), pop punk will never die. Yes, the two are inextricably linked. I woke up to find Milford, Connecticut's 3 piece Scooped Up! on my electronic desk this morning sharing their Official Video for "Best Days" from their upcoming sophomore album and it made me smile, laugh and features rapid fire bass, drumming, guitars and their self-driving van (Elon Musk eat your heart out), well, kind of self driving van.
Scooped Up! share:
"this is the third single of of our second album. the song is about being nostalgic for the past while letting the present slip by. people are busy trying to live in the past reminiscing and being nostalgic about things from 10-20 years ago not realizing they will be looking back at now in just a few years with the same feelings. best days is about how we are living the best days of our lives everyday just live in the present and enjoy life."
The song is fun but has a killer message that some people never learn, that is to be present, PRESENT, to enjoy life, to be thankful because time is fleeting.
