"...and we were tired from all the nonstop..."
For most of us, if we are empathetic, if we follow the going's on in the world, if we are readers of history, if we try to fight the good fight for our families and our community at large then it is easy to feel stressed, to get depressed and to even feel fucked over. During these times when we look in the collective mirror and realize that we can do our best but that there are forces beyond our control sometimes you have to give in to the journey, to the river we seem to be adrift on and just find some meaning, life affirming connections that seem to make it all worth it.
And sometimes running away can keep us sane. I have traversed as much as I can and I swear that the proverbial road trip cross country is so incredibly vital, awesome, to recharge. I have such fond memories of scattering across unfamiliar roads, of seeing scary ass lightning storms in New Mexico and driving through the Holland Tunnel to Manhattan at night for the first time. I thought of all this when listing to "Roadtrips" by UK based Repasure, friends Craig and Alex who have been crafting their music since 2015 formerly as BEING, changing their name to Repasure early this year.
"Roadtrips" moves on beats and fluid guitar lines. The vocal aesthetic feels somber, maybe even pained and certainly reflective. The wanderlust is evident and as piano flourishes, bass tones and sonic ascension grow, feel grand and embracing you feel hope growing too. The song has a feeling of moving, of wheels on the ground, of non stop traveling in a physical sense and an emotional one. Of growth, of friendships maybe unplanned, maybe forever, maybe brief but beautiful.

Friends, Craig and Alex, have been writing songs since 2015. Their songs often touch on the cinematic styles of life, not afraid to move into darker and heavier subjects. They've played all over the UK and toured in mainland Europe, with two EP's and a debut album 'A Death In The Family' in their catalogue, in early 2022 they changed band name (formally BEING) and will be releasing new music starting with the triumphant, Roadtrips.
