The full tilt post punk pummel of "Situations" with staccato guitars, nimble driving bass, heavy handed feral drumming and passionate male / female vox feels infused from iconic late 80's sounds and current artists that pull from that potent period. All at once I thought of an amalgam of artists like The Cure, The Cult and Bloc Party. The anti-love song feels steeped in the kind of out of breath turmoil of a relationship on the decline.
