"you make the truth hard to believe..."
The crushing rock hammer of "Teeth" by Washington D.C. based KINDA EVIL feels like a collision of hardened 60's Detroit jam rock, 70's rock psychedelia, 90's Riot Girl Punk and 2000's surf punk like an amalgam of MC5, Jefferson Starship, Bikini Kill and OSEES. You can feel the funkified heavy metal stitched in too wrapped throughout the blues and punk fortified by Amanda Dove's full throttle explosive vox. It is a heady mix, potent and bad ass. If I could construct a perfect show it would be KINDA EVIL with The Dirtbombs and METZ in the round. Facing each other with the audience in the middle and taking turns playing songs. Somebody work on that, will you??
As press notey stuff indicate:
[Born at the bottom of a bourbon bottle, KINDA EVIL officially formed in the spring of 2022 when heavy artillery drummer Christopher Peli joined the DC band formerly known as Dad Legs – Amanda Dove (vocals & guitar), and brothers Nolan (guitar) and Mason Henry (bass). Weaving a darkly potent blend of blues, garage, punk, and rock & roll, this four-piece gets the blood pumping with their electrifying stage presence, big hooks, soaring guitars, and explosive grooves, appealing to fans of The Dead Weather, Priests, and All Them Witches.]
Hell yes.

Steeped in the rich musical tradition of D.C., KINDA EVIL draws inspiration from the likes of Bikini Kill, Priests, and The Kills in this biting new single. Through crunchy fuzz guitar, flame-kissed vocals, and swirls of surf rock psychedelia, "Teeth" examines the insidious nature of lies (whether from your lover or local politician!) and the destruction that lies create once they've touched one's lips. Bon appétit!
