"so Jimmy came from Philly just to meet me for a day but then he got real shitfaced and he asked if he could stay..."
The raised pinky preternatural punk elegance of 'Faster' by Persona 749, the musical moniker of solo underground singer-songwriter, DIY producer Che Landikusic, feels like a sharpened improvisation, a coming together of multiple personalities all at once. Sonically, aesthetically (off the top of my head) maybe an amalgam of the B52s, The Jim Carrol Band, Viagra Boys, Cibo Matto all smushed together and blended with whatever is percolating in Che's head. That is just a guess on my part and even more than connecting with the sonic ghosts of other artists, Che's creation here makes me think of early 80's aesthetics, of places like CBGB's or The Chelsea Hotel. I always dig when he shares his art with me with all it's abrasive loveliness.
