"you'll be watching in the front row, with some popcorn, my fuck up show..."
I am thoroughly digging the jagged constructions, the criss-crossing dynamic layers, the super cool tom tom beats, the droning synths, the battle bass lines, the funky dance guitar lines and the 80's proto pop / punk atmosphers of "fckpshow" by Switzerland's dream pop / post punk band Dream Parade. Key to the hyper kinetic dreaminess is the cool, sometimes aloof vocal aesthetic with yelps intact.
The song is the title track of Dream Parade's recently released album "FCKPSHOW". True to the band's DIY aesthetic, the album was entirely home recorded and home produced. The band shares: "The song talks about the difficult choices we have to make in our lives that will affect the ones we love. Like when a relationship has to end for a new chapter to begin in our lives."
Dive in. Dance. Shake about.

When a group of oddball childhood friends leaped onto their high-school stage in 2015 and channeled their fun and chaotic energy into music, so was born the 5-piece band, Dream Parade. Since their spontaneous formation, the band’s music has evolved into a velvety psychedelic-pop, twined in ethereal guitar riffs and elevated by dreamy bass lines. The throaty lyrics evoke the darkness of lakeside summer nights, the complexities of relationships, and explore the delicate tension between hope and despair. Still, they preserve the wild energy and determination not to take themselves too seriously that brought the group together in the first place. “Why are you trying to fight it?”
