"I saw an angel on the welfare line / there's no vaccines for open eyes..."
Do you have issues? Do I? Does a bear (?), never mind. ""ISSUES" by Irish bred, London based James WLDE feels darkly drawn, is full of angst expressed in over-modulated vocal sounds, a mixture of organic sparseness and kind of industrial rock / gothic punk ascensions. There are lyrical cues that may refer (or may not) to the mental wear and tear brought on my the Pandemic but there are other things that might point to other stressors and fuck there are a lot of those in the world right now, aren't there.
I love the breakdown (not mental but sonic) at around 2:30 that feels steeped in 70's psychedelia but quickly shifts (17 seconds later) into a massive cinematic run around of added synth laden tensions as the outro. "ISSUES" has a caustic sound, indie but commercial as well and it feels like the theme song for the next NETFLIX or HULU binger, that, hell, could be called, well'..., "ISSUES".
